HOMEKEEPERS STUDY GUIDE

INTRODUCTION

For further encouragement, you can click Plain Book of Homeschooling, to find a very special resource that I have written which covers homeschooling in a fuller fashion.

Titus 2:4-5, "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

This is written with the homeschooler at heart, but can be used by anyone wishing to expand their own home keeping skills or wishing to teach these things to their daughters. It is written from the conservative Christian perspective of being a full-time keeper at home, for which I make no apologies.

I truly believe that God has called wives to this role, and that it is a high and worthy calling. It deserves all the training and preparation that any full-time career would warrant.

The wife is the heart of the home. As such, she keeps the life-blood flowing. The more she knows, the more efficient she becomes. This gives her time, then, to develop the relationships within the family circle that are vital to its well being. It also gives her time and the skills to effectively minister to those outside her family. In these ways, she honors her Lord, and He, in turn, honors and blesses her.

This is written as a guide. There are no worksheets or quizzes. No busy work. Everything done will be a useful project you or your daughters can receive satisfaction from.

Most supplies and materials may already be in your home. There will be nothing exotic in these pages. What you don't already have on hand can be easily obtained at local stores.

There is no particular time frame for this to be completed in. Scheduling is strictly up to you.

Many of the resources are easily obtained from the web or from your local County Extension Office for free. Others have some cost involved, but they aren't terribly expensive and are useful well beyond the confines of this course.

Since you know your daughters' abilities better than anyone, I won't assign age or grade levels. You may want to start younger girls out using only parts of the course they are capable of doing, and then add in other parts as their abilities dictate in years to come.

Probably the best part of this course is the time you'll spend with your daughters as you share the course and work together on projects and prayers. If nothing else is learned, you will all certainly learn more about each other. In doing so, you'll grow closer to each other and to God.

This course is designed so that Mothers and daughters will be able to work on it together. There are lots of hands-on projects for you to do together.

Proverbs 31:10-11, "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil."
